Geo-weaponry has recently been introduced to the public as a 'new' high tech way to mitigate the effects of 'global warming', and it is being called 'geo-engineering'.
Geo-engineering is defined as planetary-scale environmental engineering of our atmosphere: that is, manipulating our weather, our oceans, and our home planet itself. The methods that are being proposed in geo-engineering are already a reality without public participation in debate, prior public notification, or democratic oversight. Welcome to On the Brink Radio #283. This week's broadcast is in honour of Dr. Rosalie Bertell, a true Rachel-Carson-of-today, a vanguard bio-medical and planetary health educator and activist, a Catholic nun and medical doctor who took on the huge work of enlightening the public to the dangers of the global nuclear scenario, and not so much about the dangers of so-called 'nuclear war' involving mega-tons of explosions and continents laid waste, but the real 'nuclear biological war' that began in 1945 with the creation and dissemination of carcinogenic and mutagenic synthetic radio-nuclides. I had come across her work after my 'nuclear enlightenment' synchronicity in 1986, but she came into sharp focus on my radar around 2003 when the alternative media community was outraged by the massive amounts of DU, 'depleted uranium' deployed in the Gulf Wars. I think the first time I saw and heard her was in David Bradbury's 2003 film 'A Hard Rain' about the global nuclear scenario, which, along with his previous film 'Blowin' in the Wind', represents his best work. Interestingly, Bradbury, an Australian, exhibited a bit of prescience in 'A Hard Rain' by examining the dangers of a huge nuclear reactor complex located right on a major fault-line in Japan.

There is no such thing as a radiation exposure that will not do damage. There is a hundred per cent possibility that there will be damage to cells. The next question is: which damage do you care about?"

In 2000 Bertell came out with a landmark book, in its own way very much like a Silent Spring of 'the revolution in military affairs' happening since World War 2. Dr. Claudia von Werlhof, a professor at the University of Austria, knew and worked closely with Rosalie and is simultaneously carrying on Rosalie's legacy as well as her own, which not only encompasses humanity's war on life and Mother Earth but seeks to explore the psycho-genetic origins of this patriarchally-driven imbalance. Shortly before her passing in June of 2012, I received an email from her asking my permission for her to reprint part of an article I had written about the whales and dolphins, who she loved dearly. I believe I had sent her a painted rock. I will never forget the whole sky filled with rainbow colours for hours on the day she passed away, Liesbet and I were here on Great Barrier Island just finishing the trailer for our film project about the whales and dolphins.
